The chemical composition of silicon steel depends mainly on the amount of carbon in the steel, but also on the amount of other elements in the steel. If a sufficient amount of phosphorus is not added during the steelmaking process, the steel contains too much phosphorus, which can result in increased iron losses and reduced magnetic susceptibility. In addition, if a certain amount of sulphur is added to the steelmaking process, the sulphur content of the steel will be increased, which will reduce its magnetic properties. Silicon steel contains silicon is used to improve its magnetic properties, when the steel is added to {{0}}.10% to 0.15% of silicon, it will produce a "soft magnetic" effect. When the silicon content increases, the steel becomes "soft", i.e. it is not easy to make changes in the magnetic field.
In steelmaking furnaces, a certain amount of sulphur ({{0}}.10% to 0.15%) is often added in order to increase the carbon content of silicon steel and reduce iron losses. In addition, an appropriate amount of aluminium (0.15% to 0.25%) is added during the steelmaking process to reduce the amount of sulphur and aluminium contained in the steel. During production, when the furnace temperature reaches 950 degree , the iron solidifies into a silicon-iron alloy. This steel is called soft phase ferrosilicon.
Soft-phase ferrosilicon is an amorphous ferritic steel that can only be produced by adding a certain amount of phosphorus and silicon to the steelmaking process. This steel has a higher hardness, greater yield strength and higher wear resistance than austenitic steel. This steel is much less susceptible to intergranular corrosion than austenitic steels because of the reduced iron loss due to the easy oxidation of phosphorus to hard phase oxides (commonly known as soft phases) at high temperatures.
Orientation Silicon Steel B23P090is a non-orientated electrical steel with a silicon content of 80% to 90%, named after the word "silicon" in its grade.

Compared to ordinary steel plates, Orientation Silicon Steel B23P090 is characterised by:
④High magnetic permeability: the magnetic permeability of the core is about 1~3T/m;
⑤ High magnetic induction strength: the magnetic induction strength of the core is greater than 10T/m;
⑥Low coercivity: coercivity Less than or equal to 60 kA/m;
